What we collect and why
- Enquiry details. When you call, message us on WhatsApp, email, or submit the form on our contact page, we collect the details you give us — typically your name, phone number, email address, town and the contents of your message. We use these solely to respond to your enquiry, arrange consultations and quotes, and carry out any work you ask us to do.
- Form delivery. Our website form is delivered to our inbox by SMTP2GO, an email delivery service which processes your submission only for that purpose.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard log files including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages and timestamps. These are used for security and to keep the site running, not to identify individuals.
- Analytics. We may use Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, links clicked, general location). This information is aggregated and does not tell us who you are. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings without affecting your use of the site.
The legal bases we rely on
We process enquiry details because doing so is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and for our legitimate interest in responding to the people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)). Analytics and log data are processed under our legitimate interest in operating and improving a secure website.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business — our form processing provider, email and hosting providers, and analytics services — and only to the extent needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and customer records for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, deliver and guarantee our work, and meet legal and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@vestablinds.com — we will respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
