Why shutters are worth the wait
Interior shutters — often called plantation shutters — are hinged panels of horizontal louvres fitted within a frame around your window. Unlike a blind, they're a permanent piece of joinery: they become part of the window rather than something hung in front of it. Tilt the louvres and you meter the light by degrees; swing the panels open and the window is fully revealed; close everything and you have privacy, shade and a surprisingly effective barrier against draughts and noise.

The nine shutter styles we supply
Full height shutters
Panels running the entire drop of the window — the classic look and the most-ordered style, suiting almost any room and window shape. A mid-rail can split the louvres so top and bottom tilt independently.
Tier-on-tier shutters
Two independent rows of panels, one above the other, each opening and tilting separately. Open the top tier for daylight while the bottom stays shut for privacy — the most flexible configuration of all, and a favourite for street-facing rooms.
Café-style shutters
Panels covering only the lower portion of the window, leaving the top glass bare. Light floods in above while the sofa-height view from the pavement is blocked. Especially handsome on Victorian terraces and bay-fronted semis.
Bay window shutters
Panels and frames angled precisely around a bay's facets — three-sided, five-sided or curved. Bays are where shutters arguably look their absolute best, tracing the shape of the window in a way curtains never quite manage.
Tracked shutters
Panels hung from a top track so they slide or bi-fold across very wide openings — patio doors, room dividers and expansive glazing where hinged panels would be unwieldy.
Special shaped shutters
Made-to-shape panels for arched, circular, triangular and gable-end windows. If a window's geometry has ruled out every blind you've looked at, a shaped shutter can usually be built to follow it exactly.
Solid panel shutters
Solid raised or flat panels instead of louvres, in the tradition of Victorian and Georgian window shutters. Closed, they block more light than any louvred style and add a period feel that suits older Mansfield houses beautifully.
Wooden shutters
